Absolutely the best! Phenomenal experience every single time with Upright Engineering! Austin and his crew in my opinion are the best engineering firm we've ever worked with. We run a landscape construction business and they always come on time and quick. I always recommend my clients for structural engineered retaining walls, decks or grading Upright does it all! I recently had them do my house addition plans and the process was just incredible. I had several questions and redo's on my architectural plans but Caleb listened and delivered!

I am a general contractor, I work with Upcivil on a large master bed & bathroom addition on a challenging hillside in Lafayette. The house had prior structural issues because of the unstable hillside.
Some corrective foundation work had to be done. I was impressed on how Austin, the owner of the company, took advantage of the additional foundation work. He drew up the structural plans to allow us to maximize the size of the addition.
What impressed me most was he was able to think outside the box, easy to work with and did not over engineer the project. Other engineers I've worked with in the past, tend to create tension with the homeowner due to over designing the project without analyzing all the structural elements.
That saved me time and money and I was able to pass that along to the homeowner.

Upright Engineering drew up the structural plans for my ADU new construction. The plans were complete, approved by the City Building Dept without issue and easy for our contractors to follow. Their engineers and staff were promptly available if we had special inspections or questions during the project. Professional, efficient and just nice people! I will definitely use them again for future projects.
