The staff was nice but not very helpful. One member never called or emailed us back after several attempts and several weeks. Then the other consultant, although very sweet, was not knowledgeable. She told us we needed to wait past deadline and pay penalty on our annual business registration because I had made a huge mistake. She also told me that we needed to hire a lawyer to fix those documents, yet when I investigated and contacted the secretary of state department they told me I should not have waited past deadline to register and that I just needed to fill out a paper. No lawyer needed. She also told us a few other things that were inaccurate, yet with google I was able to figure things out myself. I told her and she told me to forward her the info since I knew more then she did. I appreciate the fact that they are free, but if we as small businesses rely on them as consultants it could hurt us. I literally knew more by googling then this "professional business consultant". Just beware.

I called the Rome office, scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, no one showed up. No phone call, no explanation given. I called the office to find out what happened and had to leave a message- no return phone call and no response to my follow up emails as well. Why bother offering services if there’s no intention on actually providing said service...this was a very disappointing experience with the SBDC.
