I hate to leave a negative review but I was disappointed with Staton Law's services for our closing transaction. To start, they spelled 3 out of the 4 names wrong on official closing documents (both sellers' surname and one of the buyers' first name). Even after this was brought to their attention (once by the sellers and again by the buyers), they continued misspelling the names on official documents. It really did not instill confidence that the title work was being done properly. In addition, they inserted our old address as the contact address for our mortgage instead of the property we were closing on - very lucky I caught that or the consequences could have been very serious (not receiving important information about our mortgage and how to pay it). Additionally, I received a revised copy of the closing disclosure from our mortgage company after the fact because Staton Law forgot to insert their contact information in the Settlement Agent box prior to completing our paperwork. Finally, Staton Law sent us an envelope with our deed that they filed and the deed was missing an important comma in between the buyers' names and the attached letter and envelope was addressed to, again, misspelled names. Overall, these discrepancies and lack of attention to detail caused me to lose confidence. I will not use them again.

We love working with Staton Law. Whitney and the team she assembled have the highest of standards, take or efficiently return phone calls, consistently manage expectations only to exceed them and are are a delight to work with, time after time. When our clients choose Staton Law, we know the loan with be complete and accurate in advance of scheduled closings avoiding last minute delays and anxiety for buyers or those refinancing. And, when you arrive, their downtown parking is spacious and abundant. That doesn't sound like much ... until you're having a busy day selling a home, buying your new home and moving on the same day. It's a treat Whitney and team, beginning to end.

We were referred to Staton Law by our real estate agent. The team at Staton is the best! they handled all of our closing, title and deed work. I have also had several questions about our deed 1 year later and Hannah was very professional and gracious in handling my questions. I strongly recommend their services.

We used this firm for a closing as the sellers realtor recommended. Not only did they not distribute the insurance funds at closing, but refused to allow me to pay the insurance company to avoid the insurance becoming void. It is now 45 days after closing and my insurance company still has yet to receive funds And now my mortgage company is in the process of purchasing another policy to protect their loan at my expense. I’m not a happy newcomer to Hendersonville NC from this poor experience.

Whitney Staton and her team have done several projects for us. If there was a way to give more than 5 stars we would! From closing on real estate to problems with a grumpy HOA board. Whitney and her team go "Above and Beyond" and can think outside the box to make sure that her customers are protected and secure... 11 out of 10!!!

DO NOT USE FOR CLOSING!!! To start with, the attorney let us know 2 hours prior to our closing time that she scheduled our closing for the same day time as she had court, so we need to be there earlier than scheduled or we would need to re schedule our closing. Keep in mind she let us know this 2 hours prior to our closing time as we were headed to our final walk through of the home! As if that wasn't bad enough it got worse, much worse. As we were reviewing the paperwork with her during closing we noticed she was charging about $200 more for her services than contracted, when we caught this that meant her assistant need to re do some of the paperwork to re work the money that would be handed over during closing. She was not happy about having to do this and tried to get us just to sign the wrong paper work and assured us she would fix it later. Well of course we did not go for that and good thing we didn't. When we got the revised paper work back, she had re worked it to charge us for our appraisal even though we had already paid for it, all to ensure that she would get the extra money. Thank goodness our Mortgage Consultant caught this as soon as it came through on his email and called us to have us stop signing the paper work immediately. She is VERY RUDE, very difficult to work with and a scam artist!!! She deserves to be disbarred!!

We were pleased with the work done by the law firm for a quick and easy process on the selling end. However, our check was mailed to us, as requested, with the check amount showing in window of the envelope so now mailman, and whoever handled mail, has that info. VERY unprofessional.
