Reading Town offers an immense amount of support to make sure your child achieves their goals. Their test prep and homework is rigorous, and the teachers are always there to help. They have the resources needed for your child to succeed, regardless of their academic intelligence. The teachers are talented in their fields and make sure there is a positive classroom environment where everyone is focused. I saw improvement in my child each time she took a test, and Reading Town was able to push her to the best of her abilities. Attending this center has changed her life for the better and helped her navigate the challenges she faces.

The teachers are knowledgeable, talented, and responsible, and the classrooms are clean and have space. My son Aiden retook the SHSAT exam in ninth grade, we can see the improvement week over week, and Ms. Kim every week will sent out his test score and learning progress recap to me. Reading Town is a neighborhood gem. Ms. Kim, the director, has an encyclopedic knowledge of NYC schools through her many years of experience. Most importantly, she provides honest feedback and advice concerning her students’ learning potential, and matches them up with the appropriate instructors. The tutoring is personalized, targeted, and efficient. Our son had never attended any test prep classes prior to this Fall and we were wary of the all-weekend, large classroom settings of prep centers of larger repute. His tutors at Reading Town managed to connect with him in 1-2 hour relatively pain-free sessions, which exposed him to excellent literature and writing techniques, to great results. We highly recommend this school.

My two kids have both attended Reading Town, and they've made plenty of progress. The younger of the two used to be below average in ELA, but is now about average, thanks to the help of their superb staff. The elder of the two had attended their Spring, Summer, and Fall SHSAT course, as well as a 1 to 1 math tutoring session. All of that work allowed him to be accepted into Stuyvesant. Would highly recommend.

We have used Reading Town over the last few years for summer enrichment, after school, state test and SHSAT prep. They do have group classes but also private lessons that work with your schedule. We always felt that the teachers and directors really cared about our kid's development and well being. The kids do need to do the work in class and at home to get the most benefit, but the hard work is worth it when grades improve. We highly recommend Reading Town for all academic needs.
