Powers IoT was sub contracted by On Tech (Google’s service provider for Nest products installation). So, On Tech handled scheduling, billing etc. I wanted a professional to install my Nest thermostat because there was no C wire and I was unsure of the wiring at the furnace.

My technician was Garrett. He arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous! He first spent some time trying to understand the current setup. Then, he walked me through the C wire installation and informed me why it would be hard to do in my situation. I had ordered a Venstar Add A Wire to avoid having to run a new wire and told Garrett about it. He was pleasantly surprised to learn about it and was very willing to figure out how to install it (he did have to get his manager’s approval which went through just fine). The installation went smoothly. One thing to highlight is his attention to detail: Nest guides you through a test of the system - Garrett completed that but then also did a test of his own by turning the thermostat all the way and down and stayed near the vents to make sure warm/cold air was blowing! He then shared his cell phone number and offered after install support if things start acting up (wow!). He had forgotten to install the faceplate behind the thermostat (He wasn’t aware mine came with one - newer ones don’t) - he offered to speckle the holes left behind by the previous thermostat (again, wow!). Overall, A+ experience for the price I paid. The world needs more technicians like Garrett.

Installation of my cameras and video doorbell went excellent. The tech arrived on time, discussed how he would install, explained to me how to use the app and was very polite throughout the whole visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking to install smart home technology. These guys are rated as Nest Pro Elite and it really showed!

Great install quality/tech was very professional and went above and beyond. Doorbell install turned out great, and he was very thorough with asking questions about how I want it installed.

Only complaint is the professionalism of their support team - I contacted a member about an unknown charge associated with my service, and the response was less than professional (They tried to charge me an additional $2 for sales tax on top of what they already charged), and the support member said at the end of the message “Our bookkeeper will be happy!”.

Total class act with the support team. The installation of my video doorbell was wonderful.

We had a nest doorbell installed and it was a difficult job- old house, concrete walls, crawling around in the sweltering attic etc. However the installer Fernando was FANTASTIC. He was very upbeat and eager to do a great job, and he did! Overall very professional, clean and would recommend to anyone. I initially questioned the price but what he had to go through in the end I felt it was very fair.

The technician was professional and did a great job coming up with solutions for my home in B'more. He had everything installed very quickly and was respectful of my house and me. I had to haggle a little with the sales team in order to actually get a decent price, at first they were trying to bankrupt me with their pricing =P Sometimes a good ole fashion phone call does the trick. My only complaint is that I had to essentially bug them to get me scheduled. They said someone would reach out to me within 24 hours to schedule, 72 hours later and no one had called, so I just called them and was able to get scheduled.

I am writing this for an installation of a Nest Thermostat on the dual fuel HVAC system in my home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ben, our technician, was really great. I found it very easy to schedule and appointment, and the communication leading up to our appointment was solid. Ben called about an hour before he arrived, letting us know when he would be there, and he arrived right at the beginning of our window, as he said he would. Ben was very professional and friendly. He had to troubleshoot a little bit during the installation, and he absolutely went above and beyond in making sure that everything was working for us before he left. Based on this experience, I would feel confident using Powers again for this type of work.

Paid $890 for them to install three cameras and three locks which took all of four hours. However, it took multiple visits over three months from their technicians because they initially shipped the wrong equipment. After 8 contact requests (phone/email), they finally called back to schedule the final installation. Of course, the day the job was completed they called ASAP asking for the final third of payment. In exchange for the numerous headaches they offered 10% off their installation fee. This was a simple job that was massively over billed and I would NOT recommend working with them.
