So I rented from this corporation at their Sunset Vista Apartments for two years and always paid my rent on time. In August I gave them a verbal 30-60 day notice to their property manager Angela to vacate. While living at the property I was under the impression that Angela was a cool and fair manager. I've had issues at the apartment on and off. I am a single mother. I went from full time work hours to part time. I planned to move from the property because I had an upstairs unit making it hard for me and my child to be comfortable upstairs. Also the unit was becoming infested with a roach problem. My new apartment said they would be unable to hold my apartment after being approved. I was confused and concerned and verbally communicated all these things to Angela. She seemed to be understanding and wanted me to stay at the property and renew my lease for another year. I was in a hard place and unsure of what I wanted to decide. Eventually my new property got a hold of me and stated they were able to hold my apartment for me. I communicated verbally with Angela about it and she said she'd keep the unit on the market less I told her differently. The emails always seemed to change or not work. They hardly ever answered the calls. Going in person to the office always has tenants walking on eggshells. I verbally and have proof of an email I sent stating I was moving. A lease renewal was sent to me through email that I never signed. I paid all my rent on time. September 1st would be my first bill staying there or at my new apartment. My new apartment allowed me to move in a few days before my move in date due to a holiday interference. Angela verbally told me just to put my keys in an envelope with my new apartment address and apartment number so she could send out my deposit within 5-7 business days. My apartment was left clear, clean and undamaged other than normal wear and tear. I did as instructed. Now because I've been emailing, calling about my security deposit. I got one email stating it normally can take a few weeks. So I waited longer. I emailed saying it's been a month and a half and now I get an invoice by Northstar management saying I didn't provide proper 60day notice. Angela spoke with even my new apartment complex letting them know I gave proper notice to even move into my new apartment. Now this morning I open an email saying they're not giving back my security deposit and I owe them a thousand dollars for September and not providing proper notice to vacate. This is false and unprofessional! All because I want my $300 dollar security deposit back!? I called Sunset Vista Apartments and spoke with her and she played like " Who did I give notice to?" I said you! She said yeah but you kept saying you were unsure. Lady I verbally and left emails informing I was moving out for sure and was instructed to leave my key and new address in an envelope and drop it in the mail box that goes to the office and I did just that! How is this fair or cool!? They need to do me right and just give me back my $300 deposit!

I normally do not leave reviews, however do not rent any properties through this "management" company. I am a current resident at Redondo Towers and have been living in absolute hell since. Constant construction, with debris everywhere (junk in hallway, screws in parking lot, ovens left for weeks outside building). Additionally, water is turned off every Thursday. Apartment flooded two times while living here. After complaints, and even after a visit to the management office..nothing was done.

Management breached the warranty of habitability by ignoring multiple written and verbal complaints that the space was uninhabitable due to round the clock intolerable noise, banging, stomping, screaming, gang activity and harassment by tenants upstairs, operating a residential brothel drug den creating a threatening, volatile, and potentially violent and deadly outcome. After they vandalized my car, I had enough. I paid all rent on time and gave 2 weeks notice, left the apartment immaculate yet they falsely claimed I owed $448 negatively effecting my credit. Other tenants had similar experiences. The Broadmoor apartments are managed by Northstar Management, a vile and criminal organization.

Management turnover. Maintenance turnover. Slow and ineffective maintenance. COCKROACHES.
Vehicle (parking lot) damage.
Unsupervised children running rampant. Trash all over the parking lot.
Discarded appliances, broken glass, and dirty mattresses found on the property at a regular rate of gross inconvenience. Very stressful environment with no clear path to positive direction in sight. I really wish I had done more research before investing my time and money here at Vertical East, a property of Northstar Management & Consulting.

They literally stole from me.

I paid my final utility bill balance on the portal website before my lease ended. Then when I received my security deposit back, they had taken out the amount for the final utility bill. I have been trying to reach someone to talk about, but I have basically been ignored. I would give 0 stars if I could. I had to dispute the charge with my bank.

I lived at Albany Apartments in Mesa AZ for 2 years, in 2 different apartments because of a rental increase that I couldn't afford and quite frankly felt this place wasn't worth it. In my first apartment I requested many many times for repairs to be done. 7 months later I finally got them done, one of them being a screen door for the Arcadia door. I finally got that in July when it was too hot to open the door but I paid my full rent every month. When my lease was up I moved to a smaller apartment hoping for the best. It turned out to be the same thing. I had to leave the state for a family emergency. 10 months into my lease the repairs that I had been asking for since day one were finally done while I was gone. Again I paid my full rent every month! I came back at the end of my lease to move out, leaving behind a king size mattress and box springs. The management said a walk thru was not necessary so I didn't do one. When I received my refund deposit, I was charged $200.00 for removal. I called the management office and just like in the past nothing happened. I am so sorry I ever rented here and felt like it was a complete waste of my money! I will never recommend this place! Don't rent here if you want any repairs done because it doesn't happen!

I'm increasingly frustrated with Northstar Management's lack of urgency and apparent disregard for both my money and time. The process of receiving my refund has been quite a hassle. At the very least, I expected better communication from customer service. Unfortunately, I've only received sporadic and brief text messages, or worse, I've been completely ignored. Upon visiting Station 19 myself, as no one answered the phone or door when I arrived on 7/27, I decided not to rent there. The property didn't meet my standards in terms of cleanliness and appearance. I promptly requested a refund the next day since I had already made payments for my selected unit, intending to sign a lease. The refund was promised to be sent by check on 08/07, but I have yet to receive it. With my move from IL scheduled for tomorrow, reaching someone who can assist me has proven impossible. Urgently needing my funds, I'm seeking immediate communication.

For the first year I lived here I had the greatest manager. John is great. Patti, has really grown on me. Nothing is ever her fault. She gets things done and handles the community well. I absolutely hate the new app. They don't report to credit bureaus anymore. They did when I moved here. Now their rental app charges you fees no matter which way you pay. So they've added on to your rent, they just act like it's a fee. Unless you pay by check (who on earth besides 80 years olds have checks anymore) you can't pay rent without a charge. Debit/credit card $25 fee. Checking account $2.49 fee. Money order minimum $1 fee. There is absolutely no free way to pay rent anymore
