After two years of working with Heather Smith , I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without her guidance, support, and wisdom. She has been an incredible counselor, helping me navigate challenges, heal, and grow into the person I am now—strong, confident, and ready to take on life headfirst.

I’ve been in therapy on and off since I was 4 years old, last year I made the decision to put myself back into therapy. His books were booked out for months but by some grand design I was able to get a spot with him immediately. After being diagnosed with BPD Dr. Wright and I continued sessions for a little over a year. He will make you laugh while you cry, there is no judgement, he is an active listener and he’s not going to just send you home with homework and call it a day, he takes so much pride in his work. He’s someone you automatically feel you can be open about any and everything with and you don’t get that very often in the counselor world anymore. He’s given me all the tools I need to continue to be great, while yes I had to put in the work myself as well I know that I definitely would not have been able to do it without his help. Dr. Sandrew Wright has genuinely altered my perception on everything that comes with life in the most amazing way possible, I have been seeing him for close to a year and a half and each and every session didn’t even feel like I was at therapy it felt as if I was speaking to a friend that I have known my entire life. When you want to get better and do the work, therapy helps. I first went to crystal river but the therapist I saw at that location wasn’t beneficial to me so I called and asked for someone who was trained in CBT, DBT, and possibly EMDR therapy. They found me the correct person and now my negative core values have drastically shifted to positive ones, I’m able to use my coping mechanisms, and have become extremely self aware. I feel there’s always room for improvement no matter the stage of life you’re at, but trying to get to this point for the last 8 years and doing so within 6 months with this specific therapist has been the ultimate game changer. Highly recommend if you’re willing to really put in the work!

I always thought therapy would be like the movies where you lay down and the therapist says” how does that make you feel ?” no matter what you say! I decided to try it anyways and having Dr.Wright be my therapist was life changing! He has helped me over come so many obstacles I’ve gone through in my life! He would always listen no matter what it was, but most importantly he would give me the strategies I needed.
For example: I honestly never would have thought that I would be able to have a relationship with my mom again! But because of Dr.wright I was able to overcome the bitterness and the anger towards her. I was able to use the strategies that Dr. Wright taught me to forgive her and now have her in my life again!
