As a recently promoted new manager I was starting to feel overwhelmed with trying to keep up with the fast-paced nature of my job. I thought my previous organization process when it came to my e-mails (of which I can get over 100 a day now…on a good day) would continue to work in my new position additionally, my procrastination mindset that suited me well previously was not going to cut now. In our 12 week session she has worked with me to understand the reasons I think and work like I do, and helped me embrace this persona that got me to this promotion while also providing knowledge to push persona to the next level. Brittany provided guidance, documentation, tips and tricks to expand my mindset and figure out processes (thought and external) that work specifically for me. With her assistance I’ve been able to organize my computer to better suit my needs and work habits, which has taken me out of the technical work weeds I’ve been so used to and pulled me into an actual management mindset. She’s helped me figure out how to determine priorities vs. things that can wait (especially emails), how to delegate tasks to others to give me time back; how to keep focus on one project at a time instead of jumping around whenever something comes up, setting up an email organization strategy that has greatly cut down on my daily ‘you need to answer it all…now’ email anxiety. I’ve become more confident in my ability to do my job with less stress and anxiety and because of that I have become more confident in my interactions with other company department leaders. She also worked with me on organizing my personal life as well which was very much appreciated. Brittany made sure I (we) celebrated my wins, discussed my setbacks and stayed motivated during our weekly meetings. I would not be near where I am now in mindset if I hadn’t hired her.
