I have been a customer of Global Computer Systems for over 15 years and can honestly saying its been an incredible experience. I found them strictly by chance in the early 2000's as they were listed as a "Wyse" distributor. The rest is kind of history, we have done several full infrastructure upgrades throughout our time working together handling everything from minor help desk support to full overhauls of every level of technology. We run 2 data centers, 100 workstations, 20+ servers and support well over 100 users and whether its workstations, servers, sans, communications equipment, phone systems I can say with confidence they are truly a "one stop shop"... I have worked with them both on a project basis and during emergency situations they always show up. I had a structural building collapse which destroyed our corporate offices and data center at 3am; the very next morning a team of global techs arrived and everyone was present to triage the situation whether stretching new cable or bringing loaner servers, switches and routers everything went over flawlessly. I was back up and running by end of day, it was quite impressive to witness. Over the last 3 years I have worked with a shining light over at Global, his name is James. He is assigned to my account and handles both my help desk and on site work and has done an incredible job. He acclimated well to the role and took the time and invested the effort to really learn about our business model, our staff and our needs. He without question has been and asset and we feel blessed to get to work with him. I find them to be responsive, professional and down to earth. Having worked with Global almost in its infancy until now I have been able to see their growth and evolution over the last 15+ years and I am glad to say they with me they have EARNED a customer for life.

As the owner of a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 530, I needed to find a local Service Provider to evaluate my machine's refusal to recognize and assimilate an approved Dual Band Wireless Network Card from Lenovo's infamous "White List"......The FRU for the Cards (I purchased two of them as both I and my sister have similar machines) was 60Y3195, and both cards came from the same vendor. My E530 was a replacement unit for the original E520 which had been quite the "Lemon", and was given to me after having shipped the original E520 to the Repair Center in Tenn. five times. Both the E520 and E530 offer this WiMax Dual Band card as an option when up-grading to Dual Band capability. I know the Cards were both good because my sister's machine recognized both of the cards, as I used her Laptop to assess their compatibility.

When I left my E530 at Global Computer Systems, I EXPRESSLY REQUESTED that I be notified prior to having anything done to the machine that was NOT covered by the Warranty. The Antenna Cables to the Wireless Card were of very poor quality, and snapped off when I tried to switch cards. I have had quite enough experience with the hardware in Laptops, and was definitely not indiscriminate when switching the cards.

When I went to pick up my unit upon the completion of it's antenna repair, I was told I had to pay $61.10 before I could take possession of my property. When I reminded them that I had specifically requested that I be notified of any charges extraneous to Warranty Coverage, they apologized, acknowledging they were remiss regarding this stipulation. I then stressed that it was common policy to discuss ANY type of service on ANY client's property that has been submitted for service, regardless of what that property may be. Once again they apologized while admitting they neglected to follow proper protocol. I also pointed out that they had called me to discuss the necessity to order both the antennas and another Wireless Card (Intel's N-2230) which had been originally supplied, and could have quite easily discussed the additional charge at that point in time. Once again the apologies bubbled forth un-restrained. On top of that, they claimed that the Wireless Card I had given them for use as verification of correcting whatever element was preventing recognition of approved "White List" replacement parts. was an un-approved part, and that it did not conform to Lenovo's FRU specifications. This was completely untrue and incredibly ignorant, in and of itself, as I had previously described to them how I had verified the card's authenticity.

For these reasons I give Global Computer Systems a very, very poor review, and urge anyone looking for a Service Provider for Warranty Coverage of Lenovo or any other manufacturer, to steer clear of this one. You will be doing both your wallet and your equanimity a huge service by doing so........Frank R. Peterson......
