Cogent has been a great "partner'' in our business. We have been working with them since 2019 through at least late 2024 when writing this with 2 intensives (finishing one next week). I think the things they have done the best for us is identifying our KPI's, or the Metrics we need to look at, and then help create some 'tools' to capture and track those metrics and develop those habits across our organization to meet and operate around these (effective operational reporting and meeting). This included cash management, effective budgeting and forecasting as well. This has been instrumental in our successful growth as an organization! We were struggling to survive in 2019 and they got us through that into doing well. In this first year, I had a terminally ill spouse, who passed, and what was done in 2019 was effective and allowed me to tend to her, and not loose the business and put people on the street.... Thank you!! Lifecycle visits following this as well are regular accountability kept us on track and improving and growing to roughly double where we were in 2019, and has set the stage for the next 10 years.

I struggled 4 or 5 stars. I gave 5 stars because we are still in business and doing well (which was in doubt in 2019) and why we are engaged in another intensive now. This second intensive has been harder in some ways, and slower going, probably because the low hanging fruit has already been picked. I still anticipate a good ROI at the end of the day, though it has taken a bit longer to get where we are presently than I had hoped.

I am a big fan of Cogent Analytics. That said, I think there are things to be done better, specifically I think they need to invest in using more 'database' structured tools (online or local) as opposed to more spreadsheet based tools. Perhaps partner with experts in some of those tools and bring them in if needed. I suspect however, that more people (business owners) are comfortable in modifying a spreadsheet, that you 'own' and less so in a database of some kind. (But technology continues to move forward, so business owners will need to change to survive!) So this decision may be more as a result of being able to leave a client with something they 'own' and can 'manage', though I still think this use of spreadsheets is rooted in older methods of doing things and needs updating with more contemporary tools. This is a fairly fine detail, and probably not important to someone in our original position. I only see this now, as we work to grow to 'another level' and having a lot of basics working well in at least part of our organization, and we are looking to improve the effectiveness of all our team still more, and in need of more robust tools as we grow. Working in the spreadsheets early on for our KPI's forced us to look at numbers and ask questions, better understanding the data, as opposed to just seeing a graph or image, so that may be an argument against me, especially for an initial engagement.

IMO, they are beyond worth checking out, and doing an initial assessment to see if they can provide the value you are looking for. I have found them very good to deal with and the people I have interacted the most with on site (Kevin, Larry, Paul) have been top notch in all areas. They have proven able to relate well with a team including artistic types to engineer types and all in between. As another reviewer noted, they need to and will probe all your weaknesses (soft underbelly) that you might prefer to keep hidden. However they also identified what we are doing well, so it is balanced in that way, but it does take a good deal of humility and openness to allow them to be the most effective. If you are not prepared for that, it may not be a good fit for you. If you are overweight, and want to change, you have to fully acknowledge the why, how, what of that reality, in order to plot a good path to change.

This review is from a real customer. Our company got involved with Cogent Analitics but they are not the type of company they presented to be.
From beginning to end it was not about our company, it was about cogent making money, they request to know every single Finantial detail so they can charge you base on what you make not based on the real price of the service they provide.
They show no respect for the business as our requests were not attended.
They promised a bilingual Project Manager as most of our staff speak limited English and send a P.M that couldn’t comunícate due to language barrier and low social skills.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PEOPLE if you value your time and money.
We worked with them for few days and nothing what so ever was achieved not a single effort from the company to help improve our businesses thanks God we cut it short, but still had to pay a bill from cero achievement.
