We have used Tom as our tax consultant for over five years now and have had positive experiences with him. He works with us and reminds us of all out tax commitments through the year, while exploring ways to minimize our tax burden at year-end. He and his staff is responsive and are very good in returning our calls and helping us on our tax issues throughout the year. When the time come to file our taxes there is not too much surprise, because we have already been informed by Tom and his office what to expect. I received a notice from the CFTB for a proposed assessment on a return that Tom had filed for my father after he passed away. I reached out to Tom's office for advice, and to figure out how/why this potential error was made. After leaving voice mails asking for updates, and several days of no response, I called again and finally spoke with someone. Believe it or not, the response I got was that they would not get to it until after tax season! I stated I needed attention now as interest would start being charged in a week, and was told that they would see what they could do. I guess taking care of those that are going to pay is far more important than assisting those that have ALREADY paid!
The reasoning behind using a "professional" to do my father's taxes was to avoid any potential issues, yet here I am without the guidance/support of the "professional" that completed the return! All I can say is don't hold your breath waiting for assistance if there are issues with a return Carlson files for you!

Will never use this place again. They took two weeks to prepare an easy tax return, after they had told me it would take two days. They used the wrong bank account number to submit my return. They lady I spoke to offered no apology for the mistakes they made, and our last conversation ended with her saying, " I guess you will have to fix it with your bank, good luck".
