The one star reviews for BIN are priceless.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trusting this org when the lending agent I was working with, Theo, assured me that my credit would not be pulled until they were comfortable with all other aspects of my initial application. I take my credit very seriously and did not want an unnecessary hard pull if this lender was never going to help. Had Theo not assured me that he understood the importance of this and would not run my credit until my income and collateral in my initial documents were satisfactory, I would have paused or pulled my application in its entirety.

As time went on Theo did not feel satisfied with my application and told me to start working on my father to get him to agree to co-sign. He then became increasingly unresponsive. Having been strung along for weeks and having my time wasted, I was about to pull my application altogether when I suddenly got an alert that my credit had been pulled by LifeLock. I wasn’t even sure if it was BIN or fraud because I was still under the impression that this org was trustworthy, though perhaps unsatisfied with my application.

*When I asked Theo if he pulled my credit when he assured me he would not unless certain conditions were met, he said that he did pull my credit and it was him but that it was only a soft pull. That was a lie. It was a hard pull and did affect my credit report and has in fact, damaged my ability to access capital.*

I’m pretty sure this is illegal as I changed my consent to having my credit pulled to consenting only under certain conditions, with assurances both in writing and later clarified and confirmed over the phone, and one is allowed to withdraw one’s consent at any time.

Either way, do not trust this org. It’s a business. And according to the Small Business Development Center in Alaska, regardless of the “org” designation, Theo is a “salesman.”

I have tried to work this out with Theo’s manager to have the pull removed from my record but they are clearly going with the “deny they did anything wrong” route.

While this organization has good intentions, my overall experience was disappointing. After 20 years in business, I sought BINW’s assistance to elevate my company to the next level. Unfortunately, they overpromised and prolonged the process for over nine months, ultimately failing to provide the support I needed.

My interaction with Theo Ransum was particularly challenging. His dismissive, rude, and condescending demeanor made an already difficult experience even worse.

BINW could greatly benefit from better training for their loan officers and ensuring that decisions are communicated promptly to avoid unnecessary delays and negative impacts on the businesses they aim to support.

I started dealing with BINW in 2022 with a relatively new business. Victor referred me to Roland Chayton who has been my point of contact Roland is the most patient, committed loan Officer I have ever met. He guided me through the process, took the time to help navigate the system and made sure I was satisfied. This is a great institution. Pic of Truck financed by BINW.

Business Lending Officer Theo Ransum is AMAZING! As soon as I filled out the form on their website, he contacted me the same day and worked tirelessly to get my business loan approved in less than a week. Prior to finding this organization, I tried to get funding with Business Oregon and it took the loan officer weeks to respond every time I sent an email. I am so thankful for this organization and for Theo! He made my business a priority and his communication skills are outstanding. Its rare to see work ethic like his. Thank you to Theo and Business Impact NW!!!

Impact NW has amazing resources for individuals starting out as entrepreneurs. I was nervous about starting my business, its so much more ambiguous than working even at a high level for a company. They even waived their fees for some online courses during the COVID-19 lock down, which is just another way they show their commitment to small business owners!

Avoid these grifters like the plague. I was approved for an SBA loan through them and due to their extreme negligence, I have yet to receive my funds. They have now ghosted me instead of trying to resolve the issue--I have no choice but to believe they are scammers and NOT legitimate lenders. Do not give them your account information under any circumstances!!
