In my opinion the BBB is a scam. I believe it always has been. I believe they use scare tactics to coheres membership. They do not monitor reviews to see if they are valid. Any customer can say what they want about the business and it’s there for everyone to see whether it’s true or not. Even google allows a way to report false reviews and reviews that violate policy Google truly cares and they don’t charge you membership fees. In my opinion the BBB is only out to make a buck and they have been taking advantage of Americans for years. In my opinion it’s nothing but a scam. How is the BBB stil in bbbusiness!

Scum bags from the BBB are constantly calling our business trying to solicit money from us. When they don’t get the response that they want, they become rude & mouthy. Absolute trash this organization is, leaching off the backs of small businesses. Your days are numbered dirt bags. Google will ultimately make you irrelevant and put you out of business which is where you belong.

A rep from the BBB called today asking if I’d like to have a subscription based account to be “accredited” through the BBB for my small business. When I said I wasn’t interested I was then told that they’ve teamed up with google and this now can affect my free google profile. Pretty sad the scare tactics the bbb uses to shame small businesses these days.

Beware when renting a car from Avis/Budget.

I received a notice from Budget that I will be charged $1429.40 for towing costs for an electric vehicle rented 3/19/2024.
When I took possession of the Chevy Bolt at airport in Austin, TX, I did not notice how much electrical power was left on the vehicle. When I started driving out of Austin, TX, I saw that the vehicle had 101 miles left: about a 1/4 of the capacity. I thought that I was supposed to have a fully charged vehicle from Budget. We were vacationing in Marble Falls, TX and I assumed I could charge it there. Found a broken Charger there. We then went to Kingsland, TX and Llano, TX. : again, no chargers. When I got to Llano, the car was down to 16 miles left on the charge. It was in Llano, that we called Budget and explained what was happening. They did send a tow truck from Austin and we waited for nearly 3 hours for the truck to arrive. We drove with the driver 1 and half hours back to Austin, TX. Budget exchanged the car for a Hybrid. We originally ordered a gas vehicle but when we arrived in Austin, TX we were told that they only had an electric car for us. Why did they not upgrade us to the next level gas car? I assure you that the vehicle we picked up was not fully charged. Another irritation was that both the cars we had from Budget was dirty and had trash left from previous renters.
We lost 3/4 of a vacation day with trying to charge the car. My wife and I feel that because of Budget's negligence for not providing us with a fully charged vehicle, we should not be responsible for the towing costs. If the vehicle was fully charged we would have been able to bring back the vehicle with some charge left.
Yesterday I received the following message from Avis.
"We are sorry to read about your experience. Avis can provide a vehicle with the at least 1/4 of charge (WHAT!!).
We have adjusted 75.87 from the base rate, a total of 96.94 USD with taxes." They did not consider the towing charge of $1429.

I had spoke with a city council member in Llano, TX. She advise me that only Tesla had charging stating in the area. Even the Chevy dealer in Llano did not sell EVs or have a charging station. The people in the area of Marble Falls, Kingsland and Llano were very friendly and tried to help my wife and I as much as they could. Kudos to all those kind people. I am 80 years old and my wife is 75.

Very disappointed with their Arbitration process. Really lost faith in our "justice system". It clearly rewards crooks and swindlers.
Thanks to the decision made by the Arbitrator, the sham of a business we had a complaint against, which has countless 1 Star reviews for swindling numerous unsuspecting people, will be rewarded. How disgusting. Not sure how much more evidence we needed to present for all of their wrong doings. This process was a joke and a total waste of time.
I agree with Gayle’s review and feel like the BBB might be receiving some type of kick backs from some businesses.
We filed a Consumer Complaint with the Attorney Generals Office.

Corrupt business model for customer to trash a business and BBB claims the business isn’t “BBB accredited”. Then once you’re accredited you can “pay a fee” to be promoted as a business. What in the world? How is this even still a things? Let me know how I can leave a BBB complaint for the BBB.

I chose not to renew a subscription ahead of the expiration/renewal date, and I gave notification ahead of time lest I forget or lose track of time. Before the renewal date, I received notice of auto-renewal of the subscription. I emailed a statement that I did not want to renew and had already stated so. After receiving a bank notification of a debit to my account, I notified the company that I wanted an immediate refund. I then received notice that I needed not to worry because, while a refund was not doable, I could choose to renew the subscription at any time. I contacted BBB, and Winzip returned the funds to my account within a few days. It was well done, BBB!

What about companies that bully you to quit so you don't get unemployment for actually working hard? What happened to fairness in the businesses that don't scam you? Why is it only money motivates you to care? I know these answers.. I have worked for many companies where corruption always wins... Why do we need you? I wish Joe Stax targeted your building instead... You're worse than the IRS.
Lack of natural affection for those suffering to keep a job but end up stuck with some idiot who uses micromanagement as if it's a popular disease.. I wish there was a BBB for your own business company.
