I purchased a term life policy through this financial advisory firm about two years ago. My experience was very positive for two reasons:

1. A different financial advisor led me to believe that I would be unable to qualify for life insurance at the lowest rate due to a medical condition that I was born with. Moshe Alpert convinced me to apply for a fully medically underwritten life insurance policy anyway and to fully disclose my medical condition. I followed his advice and got approved for a term life policy at the lowest possible rate. Therefore, I managed to more than double the coverage I had with my previous group term policy at a comparable rate.

2. I ultimately selected a term to 80 policy instead of a traditional 20 year term policy with a conversion rider. While a traditional 20 year term policy provides a large death benefit for the fixed term at a low rate, the term to 80 policy allows me to convert to permanent coverage until age 60 (not just for 10 years as with the traditional 20 year term policy) and provides term coverage until age 80 at an increasing premium rate. Since my personal life circumstances don't require me to maintain a large death benefit for the next 20 years, I decided that the term to 80 policy was a more suitable risk management tool for me.

As a life insurance regulator with a Chartered Life Underwriter designation, I am probably more educated than the typical life insurance consumer. If you have at least one financial dependent who would be impacted by your untimely passing, then you need life insurance. The correct policy for you and the right amount of coverage depends on your individual circumstances. I personally consulted with multiple financial experts before I made a final decision about my life insurance policy. It is prudent to get more than one expert opinion about this important financial decision.

I personally know some young fathers who passed away in their 30s and left several young children behind. Unfortunately, they also had little to no life insurance to support their families. This lack of financial responsibility caused great hardship to their surviving children that could have easily been avoided.
