We hired Criterium-Carlysle Gibbs Engineers for an evaluation and recommendation on removing 2 post in a 1969 condo in Vestavia Hills, AL. It was easy to make an appointment and all communication is done through email. We received the first report back, through email, with in 1 week. I requested and second report regarding another section of the condo and received that second one within 1 week. I would use them again for future projects.

After having inspections of my home's foundation from 4 companies, I received proposals ranging from "You need $83,000 worth of repairs" to "Your foundation is fine-no repairs are needed." I didn't know who or what to believe, so I hired Criterium-Carlysle Gibbs Engineers to inspect and evaluate the situation. I am SO glad I did. Scott Gibbs and Jonathan Smalley were able to assess the situation and make a fair and honest recommendation. It was obvious to me that Scott & Jonathan are knowledgeable and professional.

I had to get second opinion to get an accurate report on my house. Scott Grimes recommended $30,000 in repairs and yet never took one measurement of any kind. Engineering by walking around.

Met with Mr. Gibbs to have him inspect our building on a Thursday. He said we could expect the report and drawing by the middle of the following week. Middle of the week came and went. He did not reach out. When contacted, he stated he would have them to us by Monday morning. Monday morning came and went- again, he failed to follow through. Again, I had to be the one to contact him. He said we would have them by the end of the day, and again he did not manage to honor that promise. Wasn't until after our contractor called him that he managed to produce what he was hired for. His reputation is that he is fair and does good work. However, I absolutely do not recommend Mr. Gibbs if you are looking to hire an engineer who is organized enough to keep their word and get the work to you on time.

Reached out to have inspection of joists and foundation inspection. Scott was friendly and helpful. He verbally gave us solutions while on-site and then delivered the report less than a week later.
