I was a referral from the VA and I have been seeing Dr. Headen. I think he is great and I am very happy so far with my visits. He listens, we talk about my issues, and he doesn't look down at me when I talk about my issues. Every person is different and has different expectations from our Counselors but I feel that Dr. Headen is meeting my expectations so far. I would definately recommend him and Simplicity Counseling.

I have been going to Simplicity for quite awhile, and I love it. Everyone there is very friendly and professional. Deane is the absolute best, and I have recommended her to many people. I love when people call me after going and say it’s not like on tv. It is so comfortable there. Deane has helped me work through many problems I have struggled with. I never felt judged, and I feel completely comfortable and relaxed talking to her. She is supportive, and when I need to be seen more frequently or as soon as possible, she makes it happen. She has helped me so much. Another thing that I love about her is that she is keeps things real, and I really respect that!

Dr. Headen was the therapist the VA referred me to. Initial counseling was amazing, he was kind and really seemed like he wanted to help. My next visit, he seemed stressed and overworked due to recent influx of VA referrals. Dr. Headen recommended both times in our sessions that I should have an ADHD counseling. I asked him for a referral to a clinic or to my VA doc so they could schedule me. Dr. Headen calls me over the phone after I requested this 6x over the past 2 days. In this phone call, he tells me he won't put in the referal unless the VA is paying him to do it and that he won't put in anything until they give him an "Okay". I said "I was unaware you cared more about a dollar than someone's mental health, have a good day sir.". 10 minutes later, Dr. Headen calls me back and says "Hey I got your paperwork you need". No apology. No acknowledgement of what just happened. My response was "No, Sir. Don't worry about it. After our interactions I can see you're not the person I would like to be treated by. You take care and cancel my appointments." Do not see this guy if you want to be taken seriously.

Very poor service. Would love to call and move your appointment at the last minute. Michael never seemed to want to ask any questions to get to the cause of the issues or offer help. If you were his last appointment he was more concerned in getting out as quickly as possible. Would not recommend this service provider, many better options in Wayne County

System is very antiquated to do paperwork to fill in for virtual therapy. Need to printout multiple paperwork and scan sent instead of digitally signing. Company decides to wait to day before to tell you to fill out paperwork. Doesn’t contact you at all for weeks until the day before service. Missed worked time for appointment and canceled appointment due to their extremely poor service. Office needs MUCH better service. Would never suggest using this place!!!

Receptionist has been arguing with us about billing issues for months, told us to rip up a bill several times that had been paid on site. They have cancelled my appointments hours before and cancelled my appointments day of and have cancelled an appointment on the spot without calling me prior ( I own a business and was working out of my car for 2 hours to be able to be in town for this appointment). I structured my entire day around these appointments and I am already mentally disabled and minority that has been harassed and discriminated against while living in NC for the past 8 months and the counselor I was assigned to here did not help me rather called me names and told me to accept what happens to me. Never worked through my issues with me. I do not recommend this practice.
