We have been with our insurance broker for many years and completely trust his opinions. One day he suggested that we undergo a review by Corporate Cost Solutions as he had another client do so and they received a substantial refund. Our business seems to be pretty simple and we don’t have much in the way of claims so I figured that it would not be all that productive but as my broker thought it was a good idea I called Corporate Cost Solutions and spoke with one of their representatives on the telephone. He explained what sounded like a simple process and I entered into an agreement with them to review our premium calculations.

To my surprise they found that our entire company was classified incorrectly. The company was founded many years ago by my grandfather and in those days our manufacturing process was totally different. Apparently because our process along with our raw materials have changed we were eligible for a lower cost classification. This reduced our premium almost 100K per year!

All I can say is you just can’t afford to leave any stone unturned. These guys know what they are doing and what to look for. I simply do not have the experience or knowledge base in these matters to find such nuances that so substantially impact what we pay. You just don’t know what you don’t know!

At first I was a little skeptical if they could even recover money from previous payments made to my carrier. I was approached by Corporate Cost Solutions by telephone and agreed to meet with their representative. Not sure why I agreed to do so but as it turned out it was the best return on an investment of 15 minutes I could have imagined. We received a total of $150,000.00 in refunds and premium reductions as a result.

The auditor came in and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He took a quick tour of the facility and then I left him with the payroll etc. He was out of the dealership in about three hours (most of which he was working alone). After the audit I received all the necessary documents to submit to New Jersey Manufacturers via e-mail. This took about a minute to do. Tony DeMario followed up with me and handled the communications between NJM and myself. We received our refund check about 120 days after I sent in the request but this did include the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays which I am sure slowed things down a bit.

I would suggest that any company that is paying substantial Workers' Compensation premiums pick up the phone and call Tony DeMario and his staff. The worst thing that could happen is you spend a few minutes with them and determine that your premiums are being correctly calculated. The ROI for us was more than amazing!

After this years audit, we felt a few employees may have been in the wrong classification. We reached out to Tony DeMario and his staff and explained our concern. Tony followed up by drafting a letter and providing the details to send explaining the classification rules for Pennsylvania. After several conversations Tony then appealed to the upper management at the carrier for clarification.
The carrier agreed with Tony and our company and made the corrections.
Had it not been for Tony and his knowledge and expertise of the Pennsylvania Rules and Regulations (PCRB), our company would have given up and paid the additional premium.

Left an unprofessional message on a generic voicemail at our company that anyone could hear. They made it sound like we were in trouble or something and needed to audit our payroll for 2 years. That is not professional - yes we have an audit every year, the whole company doesn't know about it and its never for 2 years at a time. I called the number back and asked the man who answered (his name might have been Tim) about what they do as I figured it was a sales pitch. He told me they work on contingency or something. When I told him the message they left was unprofessional, he proceeded to ARGUE with me that it was! Who would use a company that is going to argue with you, the customer? Not me that's for sure!
