Hired Skyline Nov 2021 for a 10 week contract to finish our basement. We decided to make a major change and add/replace HVAC units and ductwork, this set us back 4 weeks and was absolutely acceptable. From that point forward it took almost 24 weeks to get to the point just before doing finishes.

The supervision of the work was poor and finished product in a number of areas unacceptable. The icing on the cake was that there were no insulation or framing inspections called, the principle of this company said they were and they made corrections, but I saw with the building inspector what needed to be done and they had no record of any inspection. I asked for his records of the inspection and never heard back. I asked for an accounting of the finances for the project on April 15 2022, was told I would have it next day then next week and never received anything.

In the middle of the project a gentleman, who I assume was a project manager became my main point of contact, the end of my relationship with him was his yelling at me to not get him in trouble because of a change that we made based on their tile installers recommendation. This issue stemmed from poor communication and understanding of the work to be done which was a theme of the entire project. I ended up dismissing this company near the end and finished/fixed their issues with another contractor.

The way this turned out is a shame because I thought we had someone good as the principle of this company was very responsive early on and said it's "my home, my vision." At the end, he stopped answering my calls two months before I dismissed them and I was only able to speak with the "project manager" who did not seem to have a handle on what needed to be done and always had to speak with the principle for any answers. Photos attached are of their final work compared to what I did on my own.

The positives:
Skyline suggestion to increase size of the bathroom was a good one. Seemed the principle had a lot of experience in the industry, just that my project appeared to not be a priority compared to the commercial jobs and no one was providing any quality checks.
The electrical, plumbing and HVAC subs were excellent and we would use them again/recommend to friends. When all is said and done we did peacefully part ways and I feel the final price tag for the work completed was fair enough. I wish I had all positives and a glowing review as it would have made the last year of my life a lot less stressful/less headaches, but it is what it is.
