Topline: Extremely expensive for what amounted to lackluster service.

Started out okay-- it was expensive for a fairly simple small business (~2k) but... whatever, it was done in a timely manner and our rep was very nice to deal with.

After a couple years, our first rep quit, and for whatever reason, Bonodio removed us from their list of clients? So, when I contacted them a few weeks before the filing deadline they were... flatfooted and unaware I wanted my taxes done with them (I never indicated not wanting to continue service-- so... I dont know why they thought that). As a result, my taxes were late and I was issued a fine. They eventually did get things done.

Second rep (who was nice enough) quit. Then got a bill and our bill had unexpectedly doubled from prior years. In the past, my reps would confirm with me when: the rate was changing and what the bill would roughly be. This didnt happen. $2k was high for a basic business filing, but over $4k thats absurd when there are other accountants that charge under ~$1k. Ill also note, the Third rep was... a kind reading would be: very matter of a fact and by the book. unkind: unfriendly, inflexible.

Seems to me that they were trying to ditch some of their clients (the ones that wouldnt pay a huge premium) and rather than just say that, they figured they would just raise rates until some threw in the towel.

I did think the quality of service (during covid anyway) was good with our first rep. I cant recall anything stand out about the advice/guidance AFTER the first rep.
