Firstly, this is a card only business, I walked in to a line with cash only, not knowing. I order my everything bagel with smoked lox spread and a coffee, pull out my cash and was saddened by the news of cash only...

The servers let me keep the coffee, and I had to order my bagel online since I didn't have my card with me.

The everything bagel tastes like an everything bagel from back in the day, and they are huge. The crust is perfect while the inside stays soft.

The smoked lox spread is zesty, creamy, and full of chunks lox.

The service is great, the atmosphere of the whole joint with the people in there is amazing, everyone sitting inside was enjoying their food with either a huge smile on their faces.

Even though they have a huge line most of the time, the staff is super fast, and the wait time is low which was a pleasant surprise.

Gotham bagels earned a place in my heart today

This place was delicious! I can honestly say this was one of the best, if not the best bagel I have ever had, and this is coming from someone who works in the bagel industry. The bagel was the perfect amount of fluffy and had that signature crunch on the crust that a good bagel should have. I have tried both the brighton beach (pictured) and the Rocky's deli. Both sandwiches were great! Just make sure to order them toasted.

In terms of the staff, they were lovely. The "lady who doesn't eat fish" (only a fact I know because I stupidly consistently asked her what her favorite fish sandwiches were) took my order both times and was very nice!

Overall, especially because the sandwiches included a sweet and spicy pickle in the bag, I highly recommend this bagel shop. They are a bit on the pricey range with their sandwiches falling in the $12-$18 range but definitely worth it and definitely a full meal. All the sandwiches me and my friends tried were delicious so I don't think you can go wrong here.

So nice!! The Brighton Beach bagel sandwich was amazing! So was the pickle! The staff were lovely and patient helping me choose what to order (we don't really have these amazing bagel shops in Australia).

The price for a sausage egg and cheese bagel plus tax and forced tip was $17.30. Yes you read that correctly. I used to go to the location in Madison, WI when I was in college there instead of going to Einsteins. It's been 10 years but there is no way in heck that the cost of this should be near that. I ordered a spicy sausage, soft fried egg and cheese on an everything bagel and that was it. As you can see the bagel was huge and the fixings were all skimpy. 1 extra thin slice of cheddar, 1 small egg and a mini sausage patty is what they consider reasonable portions. Then to top it off, when I was paying it automatically added a tip even though I was taking it to go. Tips on to go orders are insane.

The worst thing was that the gentleman in front of me ordered a chocolate milk for his daughter and the service was great and cheery. Once the cashier with the blond hair and glasses heard us talking about Trump and all the great things that have been happening politely, the cashier became upset and clearly changed his service quality. Gave the food the to gentleman with an attitude and did the same for me. Put your emotions to the side bud. We pay $15 for a bagel and not attitude.
Never going back to Gotham Bagel and sticking with NYC Bagel Deli on Dearborn and Illinois. Best fresh bagels in Chicago hands down. When you tip there willingly, the whole crew says thank you and even the guys in the kitchen!

Disappointed! Both of my friends had stomach aches after we finished the bagels. It was the only thing we had that day, so maybe the bagels or the stuffing weren't fresh enough.

Great customer service! We ordered online for an intended pick-up at the Magnificent Mile location, but mistakenly placed the order at the N. Lincoln location. Even though business was brisk, the staff went out of their way to cancel our incorrect order and take a new order for us.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate their help. It may seem like a little thing, but it was huge for us.
On top of that, the Spicy sausage, egg, and cheese bagel and the Everything bagel with cream cheese and salmon was out of this world! We will be back!
