I recently tried Brown Sugar's BBQ in Houston because they advertised bigger BBQ potatoes than Pappas BBQ. Sadly, the meal was pretty disappointing. I got the fully loaded BBQ chicken baked potato, but the chicken was dry and the BBQ sauce tasted like bean gravy. It was so bad that I had to go to a nearby grocery store to buy BBQ sauce that actually tasted good. The restaurant itself looked old and worn out, with outdated equipment and furniture. This, along with the bad food, made for a pretty unpleasant experience.

The service was okay, but it didn’t make up for the poor food and old atmosphere. Based on this visit, I won’t be going back to Brown Sugar’s BBQ. There are definitely better BBQ places out there. However I wish them the best and hope they make improvements for others.

This place is mad underrated. Family value pack #1 is pictured. its $32.95 comes w 1/2 lb sausage, 1 lb brisket, pint of potato salad and pint of beans. That deal is unbeatable nowadays. The meats were very good and you can tell by the pic that the brisket is tender. I love the potato salad because it taste different from other places but its like 1000x better. Beans taste like charro beans. 5 stars. Worth the stop and I hope business continues to do well.

Sorry Pappas, got a new spot. My wife said beef ribs, perfect size and taste like bbq is supposed to taste. My son said, As for the po-boy, the meat is great, but the bread is the real standout flavor- hands down best I've had. My daughter said, never mind, she's busy getting seconds.

This is an older restaurant but their stuff is still great and they give a decent amount of stuff for the price . I recommend a sweet tea too. I come here every once and a while and have yet to be disappointed.

Their baked potatoes are so good and huge. You definitely get your money’s worth here and the staff is very nice. You can’t beat good old fashion BBQ like this
