I hate to sound like my parents but the Better Business Bureau is not what it used to be! My daughter attempted to buy a car that was a lemon. When I called the Better Business Bureau to make a complaint of this company I was told that it was A+ company. That is a joke! All of the reviews that I have seen about this company and everyone that I have talked to are all negative They have a 3.4 star review on Google yet the Better Business Bureau says that they are an A+? I wonder how much he paid to have himself rated as an a plus with all the negative reviews. I was told that there was absolutely nothing the BBB Of Knoxville Tennessee could do because I didn't buy a car I was also told that if I did by the car, that cars are sold as is and there was nothing I could do then either. I'm glad my daughter didn't buy that car!The Better Business Bureau is also low rated at a 3.8 How can you trust a company that is supposed to protect you're interests if they have such a low rating. Businesses have to pay a fee to be accredited. It seems like as long as you pay that fee you're an A+company. It would be nice if the Better Business Bureau could find a better way to finance their company. It seems like all you have to do is pay that fee and you're a great company No matter the majority of consumer opinion.

Below is my previous complaint about their service. On top of that I received another concern from a customer and the BBB couldn't even get our company name right on the notification email. We pay to be accredited with the BBB, not exactly good customer service when they can't get your name right. Buyer beware!

Very poor website and impossible to navigate. My company continues to get charged with complaints that occur half way across the country and I have to spend valuable time defending my BBB rating instead of assisting my customers.

My experience with this particular branch was not positive. They assign A+ to the businesses without reviews that support this high mark. They admit this fact by themselves. Just read attentively the text below. This treacherous feature mislead me twice. Ten years ago I hired a company based on A+ rating that I saw on BBB page. Now I am in predicament again. I hired other landscaping company using refence from BBB Knoxville and deeply regret that I made this choice. I will never trust this BBB branch again.

Is there something lower than "poor" that I can use to rate the Knoxville BBB? How unfortunate. I turned to BBB for assistance with a furniture store that sold me a broken dining room set. They had told me they would look at the warranty I had purchased and get back to me about replacing the table. This went on for 4 months. Every call I place was answered by a manager that would tell me he would go look at the information and "call me right back". Perhaps my thinking is antiquated but I felt the best way to get help with my problem was by filing a complaint with the Knoxville BBB. I never got a single email indicating anyone was reading my complaint, never a phone call or even a flyer in snail mail. Every time I called the number on their site, I was met with a recording an no possibility of getting a human and no reply to messages. Finally, even more angry at BBB than the furniture store, I called the office in Nashville and told them about my situation. Imagine my amazement when, in less than a weeks time, I had a letter in the mail from the furniture store and they were calling ME repeatedly and not getting anywhere! So the moral of this story is: Knoxville BBB is a waste of office space and whoever is funding it is getting robbed. Perhaps it is the best scenario for a dishonest business but as a consumer, don't count on getting any help unless you try other avenues! My next step (since I cannot just let this lie) is filing a complaint with the national headquarters to make them aware of the situation.

The BBB has vastly improved their business services to include items not even thought of a few years ago. The BBB brand is not just a sticker on a door or a plaque on a wall. Services that are unique are web monitoring for discrepancies in website data, reports of faulty links, and multiple social meeting tracking technologies. The BBB has had an increased media presence in the last few years which has also helped validate the brand. The BBB is a relationship every legitimate business should have.
