I have been doing business with Richard Riner for about 20 years. 2 Years ago, Peter Holtz took over Richards business. Last year Peter got may business and did a good job at about the same price as Richard charged ($330.00). I had then do my taxes this year 2023 and I had to pay an upfront deposit of $300.00. Then Fri 5/17/2024 I receive a call wanting to know when they can receive a payment . They advised me the $300.00 was just a deposit and they needed another $475.00. That's almost $800.00 for a SIMPLE long form with no extras. My God this is Oakdale not San Jose! This business is definitely over priced for this area and there was NO warning of the price increase, or I would have never given them my business for $800.00 for a SIMPLE long form. Unless you are one of Oakdale's elite and can afford this much for a $200.00-$300.00 tax return, don't waste your time!
